Welcome back to vii. The Good Food Guide recently announced their 2025 Award winners. What should you know if you want to visit their restaurant of the year?
Bruton is a lovely, lovely town. Money bags lovely! My wife’s family live in Frome which is around the corner. I’ve earmarked Osip for a return because I’ve not been to the new location but I’ve heard excellent things and your experience reinforces that!
It’s a lovely part of the world and if you have family in the vicinity, it would be rude not to pay Osip 2.0 a visit! Having had one or two slightly disappointing Michelin star experiences in the past, I never take the good ones for granted!
It was the best green star I visited in the UK having been to four or five over my last visit. OAK in Bath was the next best. Far more casual but plate licking good.
Oh Jules, you have to take advantage of that! I appreciate that Osip is not always going to be a viable way to break up the journey but there’s so much to do in the area - it’s got a lot to offer to food fans x
Osip was definitely one of my meals of the year (excluding ones in Ukraine!) - Merlin is a total genius
Oh my gosh, this sounds lovely and so, so delicious!
I am planning a weekend away to Bruton asap, and thank you for all these wonderful recommendations

Oooh! You’ve totally inspired me! Big daughter is down at Exeter Uni so an overnight in Bruton would be fab. Thank you! x
